37th Manila International Book Fair & Morgan Matson's book signing event

Book events

This was a special day for all the bookworms here in the Philippines – the 37th Manila International Book Fair (MIBF), where all the publishers, bookstores have gathered to present their books. Plus, there were big discounts for all the bookworms and not so bookish people if they buy in each booth.

The MIBF was a one-week event, from September 14-18, 2016 at the SMX Convention Center, Mall of Asia. Luckily for those people who were there since day 1; but unfortunately for me, I haven’t been there when it opens on September 14 because of my busy schedule.

Last year, I visited the MIBF event; it was my first time to attend for such big book event. And because I enjoyed it last year, this time I will not waste an opportunity to visit it again.

I visited in the said event when it was already the last day of it. As usual, there were so many people. I was there around 6am before the mall opens because it was a dual purpose; first, the MIBF as I mentioned earlier and the second was the Morgan Matson’s book signing tour.

I went there alone, but luckily I was able to meet new bookish friends. And they were so funny! I like them already. πŸ™‚

Before 10 am, we were able to enter at the mall and registers for the book signing. And it was my first time to have a number below 50. LOL. πŸ˜€

When we were finished, there was also a HARRY POTTER event beside the National Bookstore booth. And I registered there also, plus I put a comment in their muggle wall. πŸ™‚

After that, I wander first in the booths at the MIBF event. They have also big discounts and many merchandises aside for the books. And all the local publishers were also here.

And as I wandering around; I met these two bookish friends, Neil and Elena! We’ve been following each other on Goodreads and Instagram.

Around 2pm, the most awaited event was here! I am beyond excited at that time because I read the books of Morgan Matson and I ended up liking them. I thought when she shows up there would be a question and answer; but unfortunately, it was only a book signing and picture taking with her. The organizers of the event said that Morgan has already done it in Glorietta 1 and Cebu events.

And the most awaited moment has come!

We are both pretty! LOL. πŸ˜€
I was speechless.. again. Don’t blame me, folks. πŸ˜€
After the book signing event, I went to haul some books. LOL.

These were the books I hauled:

It was really a tiring day, but it was worth it! And I really enjoyed this special event. Next time I will save money so I can haul more books! πŸ˜€
And lastly, this was the muggle wall.

Hope you enjoy my event recap! Till next time! πŸ™‚
