“Sometimes, it’s the scary things in life that are the most worthwhile.”
I know its been so late to post the review of Losing it by Cora Carmack, and I have so much pending reviews in my mini draft notebook right now. But, I will try my best to be updated to all the books I finished reading. Promise!
Anyway, I will now give the stage to the most important review for today – Losing it by Cora Carmack, a book review. Hope you enjoy!
Bliss Edwards was sick of being the “only” virgin among her friends, that’s why she went to bar to make her problem solve easily with a one-night stand with a guy. Then, she found a guy that would make her life in a roller coaster ride, and it was Garrick. Unfortunately, after the “almost” intimate night with Garrick, she found out something about him, and Garrick with Bliss also.
It was fun while reading this book by Cora Carmack, and I didn’t expect that this book made me devour from start to finish. To be honest, it was in my to be read list for a long time, and I will tell you the reason why I don’t read it sooner… *whispers* because of the cover. I really don’t like it. But, because of the SMUTTY READS 2019 CHALLENGE hosted by Kat (see the link after the review) I made it as one of my first entry. And I will tell you this, don’t judge the book by its cover.
So for the story, I really enjoyed reading it, but sometimes there were dull moments in some parts of the book, especially on the conversation parts in the story in which it wasn’t really necessary at all to include some of the topics they discussed. But, to fully devour the book, I ignored it and continued reading it because I was hoping that those dull moments would turn enjoyable. Yes, it was a fun and light story with not so much sexy scenes. If you are a reader who is needed to at least read a NEW ADULT genre, then this book will be suited for you. 😉
For the characters, I didn’t find any character development, especially on Bliss side. I get it that she always freaked out every time. I understand it because I sometimes do that, but there were times that her freaking out attitude was not true at all, and the immaturity of her male best friend was too much to handle.
I wish Cora Carmack made a focus on this side of her characters, the story was okay for me, but for the characters were not. Anyway, it was not bad at all for my first Cora Carmack book, and I hope that her other books will be really good.
Sick of being the only virgin among her friends, Bliss Edwards decides the best way to deal with the problem is to lose it as quickly and simply as possible – a one-night stand. But her plan turns out to be anything but simple when she freaks out and leaves a gorgeous guy alone and naked in her bed with an excuse that no one with half-a-brain would ever believe. And as if that weren’t embarrassing enough, when she arrives for her first class of her last college semester, she recognizes her new theater professor. She’d left him naked in her bed about 8 hours earlier.
OVERALL RATING: 3.4
