Book Talk: January 2022 Wrap up

Book Talk

Hello! It’s been a while since I posted a monthly wrap-up related to books. And since 2022 started I decided that I must ensure that I will share the books I read every month. So, without further ado, here are the books I read for January 2022!

1. Daisy Jones & The Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid

Rating:⭐⭐⭐⭐

Date finished: January 4, 2022

2. As a man thinketh by James Allen

Rating:⭐⭐⭐

Date finished: January 5, 2022

My Goodreads short review: This is a good book because it has a good topic that discusses how powerful our mind is. But I got bored while reading even though it was only a few pages, and the reason was the repetitive topics.

3. The Kiss Quotient by Helen Hoang

Rating:⭐⭐⭐⭐

Date finished: January 6, 2022

My Goodreads short review: I started reading it last year, but I got a little sidetracked by “adulting” that’s why I just continued and finished this book this month of 2022 (I’m sorry), and I’m so happy that I finally get to pick this book again. I’m satisfied with how the story progresses and how it ended.

I enjoyed this book!

P.S.

I need to re-read it soon so I can properly review this one. Hehe.

4. One Tiny Lie (Ten Tiny Breaths #2) by K.A. Tucker

Rating:⭐

DNF @ 66%

My Goodreads short review: I tried to finish it until the end, but I can’t take it anymore. I noticed that from start Livie always thinks Ashton which was irritating. I’m just also annoyed that she was with Connor (at least) but still making out with Ashton. Get your grip, girl! If you didn’t like Connor, please at least save him from the heartache. To be honest, I’m more interested in Ashton’s background story, I’ll be interested if K.A. Tucker made it instead of Livie’s story.

5. Haikyu Vol. 28

Rating:⭐⭐⭐⭐

Date finished: January 10, 2022

My Goodreads short review: In the Haikyu anime, this is my favorite match — Inarizaki vs. Karasuno. That’s why I started reading the manga version, and to be honest it still gives me goosebumps until the very last page. Will proceed on the next volume!

6. Evidence of the Affair by Taylor Jenkins Reid

Rating:⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Date finished: January 11, 2022

My Goodreads short review: What did I just read? It’s a short story, but it feels like I read a regular-length novel. Gosh. I love this! The storytelling used as the method of exchanging letters, and I must say, Jenkins… you surely have an incredible way to tell a story huh? And I love that. 😄

This is my 2nd book written by Taylor Jenkins Reid, and I’m sure that she is my auto-read author from now on.

7. The Crown’s Game by Evelyn Skye

Rating:⭐⭐

Date finished: January 15, 2022

8. The Signs and Wonders of Tuna Rashad by Natasha Deen

Rating:⭐⭐⭐

Date finished: January 18, 2022

9. There Will Come Soft Rains by Ray Bradbury

Rating:⭐⭐⭐

Date finished: January 22, 2022

My Goodreads short review: “Today is August 5, 2026, today is August 5, 2026, today is…” Oh shocks.

10. Haikyu Vol. 29

Rating:⭐⭐⭐⭐

Date finished: January 26, 2022

My Goodreads short review: “They don’t have the luxury of giving up.”

11. Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine by Gail Honeyman

Rating:⭐⭐⭐⭐

Date finished: January 29, 2022

Review to follow.

All in all, I read a total of 11 books! Though I DNF one book, I was almost halfway when I decided that I don’t want to waste my time anymore.

How about you? May I know how many books have you read on January 2022? Kindly share it via the comment section!
