Year-end Special: My Top 5 Favorite books of 2017

Book Talk

Hello everyone! It’s the time of the year again in listing my top 5 favorite books of 2017! I’m really excited to do this one because I will gonna share the books I read this 2017. Though this year has been not good to me in terms of reading books, because of being too much busy with my work and my life. But, I’m still happy that at least I read 30 books this whole year. Not a good count of books right? But I’m still thankful for my number of reads. Let’s still think the positive side of everything, okay? 🙂

Anyway, I know you are excited to know my top 5. And this list is solely based on my 30 books that have read this 2017. So, let’s start!

I will start in TOP 5… 5… 5… 5. 😀
5) Simon vs. The Homo Sapiens Agenda

I read this book during the 1st week of January 2017. And I’m glad that it was the first book I read. So many cuteness revolving this book, and I really can’t help but smile at the fact that the romance here was not the typical girl-boy relationship, but this tackles the romance of a boy to boy relationship. And the fact that this book made me realized to read more diverse books. And you know what? It will turn into a movie! Oh gosh. I’m so excited. Thank you for being a part of my 2017, Simon! 🙂

4) Oh Gosh, we have a tie in this slot! LOL. My Top 4 are: Warcross by Marie Lu and Si Janus Sílang at ang Tiyanak ng Tábon (Janus Sílang, #1)

I have a hard time choosing at these two books. Ugh. They were both good! These books really made an impact in terms of my reading habit. Warcross by Marie Lu was my first ever book that was specialized for gamers. I am not a gamer, to be honest, but because I trust Marie Lu in this one, I finally read this. And the results were so good. Though I predicted which villain the story talked about, the fact that the story made me dived into this book was really a plus point. At first, I am hesitant to read this because I don’t know if I will understand the ‘Game Terms’, but it turns out that even a not-so-gamer will still understand the flow of the story.

And second, the book “Si Janus Sílang at ang Tiyanak ng Tábon by Edgar Samar” was my first YA Filipino Book. This book was so good! Promise! And I am really speechless. To my fellow Filipino bookworms, READ THIS!
3) Wonder Woman: Warbringer by Leigh Bardugo

After I watched the Wonder Woman movie, I became a fan of Wonder Woman even though I haven’t read any DC Comics in relation to this. But, I became so happy when they announced that they will recreate the DC Comics, and I am filled with joy when Leigh Bardugo will write Wonder Woman!!! When it was published, and I finally finished reading this book, I literally hug this one. I love you, Diana!

2) Punk 57 by Penelope Douglas

This book. This book gave me all the feels. And I just want to say that I want more!!!

And… my TOP 1!
AND THEN THERE WERE NONE BY AGATHA CHRISTIE!!!!
9723667

I haven’t given this a proper review after I read this because I am so overwhelmed and shocked after I finished this marvel book. This was also my first ever Agatha Christie book, and I’m now a fan! I can fully understand why many readers love Agatha Christie. 🙂 The way she wrote this book was so good, and the mystery? Until the end, I can’t predict the suspect. The story, the characters, they felt so real. I will definitely read more books of Agatha Christie!

Woah! That’s so hard! 😀 Anyway, thank you for being a part of my 2017! And thank you for reading all my blog posts! Happy New Year everyone!

  1. Lovely list!!! I haven’t read any of these books but they’re on my TBR! I am also excited with the film adaptation of ‘Simon…’ book but I’d definitely read the source first 😊
